Outdoor Stuff

New chairs, repurposed table, birdhouse that J built me, & a citronella candle for mosquito free lounging.

Daisy wreath.

We took the house numbers off of the steps and bought a plaque, painted it to match the star, and painted the numbers to match the shed.  You can see it much better now, and it's closer to the road.  Everyone ALWAYS stops here and asks what house number we are, so hopefully now they can see it!

Our new maple tree (it's supposed to have the pretty red leaves come fall) from the cutest landscaping place.  We met an older couple on our day trip to Fayetteville a few weeks ago who runs their own nursery about an hour from here.  They were selling azaleas for 2 bucks a pop, so after loading up on those, we went back to their place and bought the trees, and another rare color azalea.  It's the red that sells at Lowe's for about 40.00.  We got ours for 10:)  So, 5 azaleas, and 2 trees for a total of 36.00.  We will be regular customers now, even if we have to drive an hour.  We ended up staying out there for about 45 minutes just talking with them.  Very nice people, with great life stories.  It was a fun day all around.

Our tulip poplar.  I can't wait until it gets a little bigger and the flowers bloom.  Both of the trees we got are supposed to be quick growing, so hopefully we will be here long enough to see them grow a bit.  (Please don't look at our grass..we have been working on this since we moved in and it's come a long way, but let me tell you, this sand down here is a pain in the you know what to get grass to grow in.  It loves weeds though.  Tell me how that happens!)

We are slowly getting everything together.  Next is pine needles, and more grass seed!  And I'm thinking of some big plans for a little corner of the backyard.  Pictures will follow.  Oh, and getting the pool clean and going for the season!  Busy, busy!

Hmmm....I wrote two the night before. One said blogger couldn't publish, the second one said waiting on approval from owner. Go figure. Anyway, I said that it was really pretty, love the wreath, the chairs are a really cool modern color, and miss your sweet faces here. Love you bunches!

All the projects and plans. Reminds me of the old days.....well it also reminds me of the new days.....well, it also reminds me of how tired I am just talking just being reminded. Things look great there. You and Jason remind me so much of your mom and myself when we had our first home on Harvey Teague. We would work every spare minute on something inside or outside the home and loved every minute of it. Well just about every minute.

Love you, Dad

One way to fix you grass problem is to have 15 dump trucks of top soil brought in and have Jason spread it out 3" thick on your entire yard. This would take approximately 4 month working 4 hours a day on it using 200 gallons of gas in your mower pulling the trailer around to distribute the dirt. Then once the dirt is smoothly spread across your entire yard, spread new grass seed, fertilizer and staw. You will need to keep it wet by buying 18 sprinklers and 11 new garden hoses, strategically placing them throughout your yard to evenly distribute the moisture. Only water in the late afternoon into the night. The best way to do this is on timers. Don't spread the grass seed until late fall to insure the new tender young grass won't burn up in the summer heat. This entire project should cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 4,000.00 plus your sweat equity in labor. This will ensure a beautiful green lawn that will be the envy of all your neighbors.

Sincerely, Bob Villa

I seem to like the sand it feels nicee between your toes and it's less to mow but now that we just had to sale a leg and a finger for a new mower I think that would be a great project for me and my dad in love for when he comes down on father's day. thank you for the tip bob

Your most kindly welcome, in love.
Advice is free, labor tends to run a little more.
