3 sticks of butter
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flour, unsifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
12 oz. bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed. Roll teaspoon sized scoops into balls and space 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes until just starting to turn golden. I always take them out a tad early, when they are still pretty gooey. Once they cool, they stay super chewy! Cool on wire racks.
Hope you enjoy!

YUM! I've always made chocolate chip cookies pretty much all of my life, too...and sometimes choc. chip oatmeal.
I'm sure your husband and his unit felt really blessed receiving all of those home-made cookies! That is so sweet that you are making him some more!
Blessings!
Thanks for sharing the cookie recipe with us.

Mmmm those look yummy. The Butler has a WONDERFUL recipe for chocolate chip cookies, but he doesn't give it out. (Yep, HE'S THE BUTLER AFTER ALL!)
He has taught our boys but they had to memorize it. All their years of baking together made it pretty easy.
Me ... I'll eat ANY chocolate chip cookie ANY day ANY time in ANY number. And yours look delicious.
Just save me some batter. That's what I REALLY love. I eat spoonful after spoonful...
Oh, those look SO good! I can see why Jason and his unit would have eaten them all up!!! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

COOKIES!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your cookies... they are the best!
Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite! They look yummy.
Christie those look so good and I know your husband will love receiving them!!! :-)
When I met my husband, he told me that he had never received a package from home since he had entered the service in 1990, even all the times he'd been overseas! This broke my heart so I started sending him tons of sweets. By the time he got out he couldn't fit his dress blues anymore, but he says it's because he's well loved!! :-)
Those cookies look so good, I can smell them baking! I think chocolate chips cookies are more American than apple pie:)
They look so good!
I just made your cookies and I have one thing to say..."Better than Tollhouse!" LOL My piesafe is full and so is my freezer, thank you for sharing the recipe!

I can't wait to try these!! Mr. U refers to me as the REAL Cookie Monster!! LOL!!
I make a recipe that is similar, but it is usually the small differences in a recipe that yield the biggest changes. Thank you for sharing this!
